Oral Health Promotion :: Development of culturally appropriate education resources
For many years, Dentaid has been involved in the development of culturally appropriate oral health education resources. Before this, oral health projects overseas often only had access to cast-off Western education resources. These featured white children or cartoon style vegetables brushing their teeth, which children from disadvantaged communities did not understand.
Dentaid’s work in this area includes sharing ideas/concepts for education resources or directly supplying education resources to projects.

The oral health promotion (OHP) kit consists of large and colourful posters, giant jaws and toothbrush and two educational, story based books.
The Dentaid oral health promotion kit is used in the OHP lessons in the schools programmes in Uganda and Cameroon.
If you want more information about the OHP kit then please contact Dentaid on 01794 324249 or e - mail info@dentaid.org
Also available from Dentaid are a range of products from Mango Tree, a Ugandan visual aids company. Click here for more details.
