Oral Health Promotion Services
Oral health promotion is a very broad term. It can cover a broad array of activities ranging from implementing tooth brushing programmes in communities like schools, to providing basic dental care in remote rural areas.
While there are common themes, oral health promotion almost always vary depending upon the community it is targeting and the goals of the programme.
Dentaid staff have experience in each of the following oral health promotion areas:-
On a national level:-

Assisting in the design and implementation of national oral health strategies.

Assisting in the design and implementation of national fluoride programmes.

Helping design national training programmes for dental workers.

Assisting in the design and implementation of large-scale community needs assessment.
On a project level:-

Community oral health needs assessment.

Designing and training to implement community oral health programmes.

Implementing school oral health programmes (including tooth brushing etc).

Training in specific disciplines in ART, cross infection control, implementing prevention programmes etc.

Dentaid is happy to communicate with governments, charities and other NGOs about their needs in any of the areas above. Before contacting Dentaid however, please take the time to read through the “Need” and “Resources” sections of this website, as there are a number of free downloadable training materials and resources which might suit all your needs.
Important note
Please be aware if communications progress to the stage of active work on your programme, Dentaid will require sponsorship to cover some of its costs. These costs are determined on a case by case basis.
