 Great North Run 2008

The Great North Run 2008 takes place on 5 October 2008. It is the world's biggest half marathon. It is a point-to-point 13.1 miles (21 kilometres) course that starts in Newcastle and finishes in South Shields. Since it first began in June 1981 more than 8,027,758 miles have been run- over 308 times around the world.

To take part in the Great North Run you need to fill in the  registration form and terms and conditions and return them with a £55 cheque to Dentaid, as your deposit.

This year the organisers of the Great North Run have decided to put the registration forms online. Once we have received your deposit and forms you will receive an email with your registration form attached. This must be completed as soon as possible to fully confirm your place. (Please note, if you don’t receive an email within a few days of sending back your completed forms to Dentaid it may be worth checking your junk mail in case your computer has confused it as spam.)  Upon signing the Dentaid forms you are pledging to raise a minimum of £400 for Dentaid.

Once you have completed your registration we will also send you a fundraising pack. This will include posters, sponsorship forms, collection boxes, a Dentaid DVD and anything else you may feel that you need to help you with your fundraising efforts. Closer to the day we will also send you a Dentaid t-shirt to run in.

We do hope that you will join us in Newcastle. The Great North Run is always a popular event for Dentaid supporters and an enjoyable day for all involved. Your efforts will help us to make a significant impact on the oral health of needy people in the developing world. If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact Felicity either by calling 01794 324249 or emailing felicity@dentaid.org.
