Dentaid sends fully equipped, portable dental surgeries to support communities in need around the world. Each Dentaid box or bag is a complete dental surgery that cleverly fits into a standard wheelie bin!

Despite its compact size the surgery contains everything required to deliver safe and effective dental care in remote or challenging environments. This includes a fully adjustable dental chair, a pressure cooker for sterilising instruments, a comprehensive range of dental tools and materials, and oral health education resources tailored to support local needs.

Portable surgeries have been vital in running dental clinics in refugee camps in Calais and Greece. They’ve also been sent to support our partners delivering essential care in Malawi, Zambia, Guinea, Cambodia, Uganda, Cameroon, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea.

Some projects operate in areas where a wheelie bin is impractical. In these cases we pack the chair and all essential equipment into specially designed rucksacks, making it easier to transport the surgery on foot across difficult terrain.
