Equipment Donations

We provide equipment to overseas partners, helping them to establish charitable dental services that reach communities with limited access to care. We accept equipment donations of all shapes and sizes, which we recondition and send to where it’s needed most. In recent years, we have supplied complete surgeries to projects in Uganda, Ghana, Bosnia, and Madagascar.

We work with the Maldent Project in Malawi, which supports the training of a new generation of dental professionals. The equipment we have provided, including 30 phantom head training units, is being used by 70 dental students at Kamuzu University. We also provide instruments and equipment to support a dental therapist training school in Monrovia, Liberia. These dental therapists will go on to deliver care to underserved and remote communities.

Smaller donations of hand instruments and other equipment are regularly supplied to projects, enabling our dental partners to provide care in rural clinics and isolated locations.

Please note that, due to limited storage and the scope of our projects, we are not able to accept all offers of donations. If we are unable to use donated equipment for overseas projects, it may be sold. All proceeds from such sales will be reinvested into current or proposed overseas projects.

In terms of equipment valuation, all donations of equipment more than two years old are appraised at their current scrap value. Equipment which is brand new or less than two years old will receive an independent valuation, subject to the provision of a full service history and supporting documentation.

We ask anyone interested in donating to complete the equipment donation form, which will be reviewed by our workshop manager before items are accepted.
