In 2024 our dedicated staff and volunteers provided essential dental care and oral health advice to vulnerable groups all across the UK. We reached thousands of people including those experiencing homelessness, families experiencing poverty, fishing communities, refugees and those seeking asylum, vulnerable women, survivors of abuse, and other vulnerable members of our communities. Our teams offered treatments that alleviated pain, restored confidence, and changed lives.

Our overseas initiatives continued to support dental partners around the world, helping them to deliver care to remote communities without access to a dentist. Today, this support comes in many guises including the provision of equipment for training and rural outreach, oral health education and our popular volunteering programme.

Closer to home our BrightBites oral health education programme saw a huge expansion – with more than 48,000 children learning about teeth names and function, effective toothbrushing, healthy diets and the importance of regular dental care, thanks to a team of BrightBites volunteers and oral health educators.

“Dentaid has a proud legacy of supporting communities and dental professionals around the world. 2024 saw us reach new communities and increase the number of people we provide care for. Our mission is to ensure that people who face health inequalities, including those experiencing homelessness, abuse, poverty and harm, have access to safe and sustainable dental care. The task is huge and it is only with the help of our supporters that we can achieve our goal.”
