An opportunity to give back – don’t miss Dentaid at BDCDS 2023
If you have ever considered volunteering and using your dental skills to help under-served communities around the UK or abroad, then don’t miss the British Dental Conference & Dentistry Show (BDCDS) 2023. Held on 12-13 May at the NEC in Birmingham, this will be the perfect place to connect with charities that do just this, in addition to gaining Enhanced CPD, developing your skills and sourcing the latest technologies.
Dentaid The Dental Charity will be on the trade floor, showing some of the amazing work they have been doing in the past year. In the UK, the organisation has been focused on expanding its essential dental services for vulnerable people, having just purchased a brand-new dental unit thanks to generous donations and support from the industry. It aims to reach people experiencing homelessness, refugees, asylum seekers, head and neck cancer patients, veterans, families in poverty, victims of domestic violence and other individuals who may struggle to access care in a general dental practice.
Further afield, Dentaid The Dental Charity has worked in over 70 countries worldwide, sending teams of professionals to help train local care providers, deliver basic yet essential services and improve dental health education among remote communities. If you are interested in getting involved, or just want to know more, be sure to make a pitstop by their new charity dental unit on the exhibition floor. Jill Harding, Dentaid Communications Director, comments:
“As a charity that relies on the support of the dental industry the BDCDS is a must attend-event for us. We are especially looking forward to unveiling our new mobile dental unit which has been bought thanks to Ken Finlayson and Tim Molony’s incredible climb up Mount Kilimanjaro and the Straumann Charity Bike Ride. So much has changed for Dentaid The Dental Charity in the last year, with new vehicles, branding and projects across the country. It will be wonderful to have the chance to update visitors about our work and how they can get involved through volunteering, fundraising and joining the Dentaid Community.”
The British Dental Conference & Dentistry Show 2023 will be held on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 May, NEC Birmingham, co-located with DTS.
