our work

Our work

At Dentaid our mission is to alleviate dental pain and improve oral health for people who lack access to regular dental services. Our work focuses on reaching those who are often left behind by traditional healthcare systems.

This includes people experiencing homelessness, survivors of abuse, vulnerable women, families in poverty, fishing communities, refugees, cancer patients, people recovering from addiction and others experiencing health inequalities.

We aim to break down barriers to treatment for thousands of people facing hardship, allowing them to live lives free of toothache and other oral health issues. By treating infections, easing discomfort and helping people regain control of their oral health, we restore dignity and self-confidence.

We know that oral healthcare can help our patients move on to a new chapter in their lives.

How we help

Our fleet of 11 mobile dental units travels across the country to offer outreach services in the places people feel safe and most supported.

By operating in familiar and trusted spaces - like soup kitchens, hostels and community centres - we aim to remove many of the barriers that prevent people from accessing dental care. We work closely with local charities and support organisations to ensure our outreach clinics are able to deliver essential dental treatment and oral health advice directly to those who need it most.

Each of our mobile dental units is fully equipped with the tools needed to provide a range of treatments including oral cancer checks, scale and polish, fluoride varnish, x-rays, fillings and extractions, as well as toothbrushing and dietary advice.

Every clinic is staffed by a volunteer dentist and dental nurse who provide treatment and education. our work
