Cancer patients
Dentaid offers dental clinics for people with head and neck cancer in Hampshire and areas of Dorset and Wiltshire before, during and after their treatment.
Many patients who are newly diagnosed with cancer require dental treatment before undergoing radiotherapy. For those not registered with a dentist, our clinicians ensure they can have this dental care in a timely way so they can start their cancer treatment as quickly as possible. We know that delays in accessing essential dental care can cause extra anxiety at an already difficult time.
We also provide care for patients who have developed problems with their teeth over the course of their cancer treatment. Our specialist care ensures they can feel as comfortable as possible and access the treatment they need without having to worry about the financial burden of paying for private care, especially if their income has been affected while they have been unwell. Our clinicians are also able to offer specific advice about dental care and oral health for head and neck cancer patients.
Once their cancer treatment is complete, we provide ongoing and restorative care, including emergency appointments, dentures and dental health advice. Patients access this service via referral from the University Hospital Southampton.
At Dentaid we believe everyone deserves access to safe, pain-relieving dental care. We need your help to continue to provide free dental care and oral health advice for vulnerable adults and children from under-served communities across the UK, and overseas
We welcome project enquiries from potential partners. Whether you're looking to collaborate on a local initiative or a charity looking to develop a new outreach project, we'd love to hear from you.
