“I can’t remember the last time I saw a dentist but it’s been many years now. Today, with Dentaid I have had two fillings and need a lot of other work but time constraints and the waiting list for other patients mean I would need to come back next month.
At the moment, I am living in a tent not far from here, through no fault of my own and I am currently working with two charities who are trying to support me with housing, but this feels like a never ending process.
I can put my tent up in this area and have done so for the past 6 months to access the charities for other services. I use my skates to get around and some days can do up to 20 miles – not just to get places but because I love it.
Before I became homeless, I laid bricks for 25 years. Even then when I could work, I would struggle to meet dental expenses but now with the other barriers it is impossible.”
