Agi volunteer dentist

Agi – volunteer dentist

I volunteered when a good dentist I know working in a private referral centre posted on social media calling out for volunteers to help patients in need. Since then, Dentaid has attended our LDC, and since then dentists and dental nurses have got involved.

Dentaid is needed at the moment to fill the gap to help people in hard-to-reach groups. The work is outside the NHS patient charge framework and as volunteer, you give your time simply to help those who need your skills.

The need is great, and the disease levels seem to be from a bygone time, yet they are with us now. You can volunteer for a single day or for regular slots and be part of a mailing list for when a dentist is needed. There are also opportunities to be involved in BrightBites for delivering OHE to children.

The charity is supportive and organised, the team on the day are professional and skilled and the patients are really grateful. I would recommend the experience to others.
