Eimear – volunteer dentist

I’ve worked in private practice for the last six years and wanted to try something different, do something that would really expand my horizons and continue with my goal of supporting patients.

I really enjoyed working with Dentaid, the whole operation was really efficient and well set-up, it didn’t feel like you were working on a mobile dental unit at times. Everything was really friendly and welcoming.

Throughout the day we performed a number of treatments including a couple of extractions and fillings, for the most part it was about providing patients with oral health advice and encouraging them to follow up on healthy habits.

Working with Dentaid really exceeded my expectations, it didn’t take long for me to familiarise myself with everything and feel right at home on board the unit. Everything was well-communicated both before and during the clinic and, although it didn’t end up happening, I fely like I was in good hands if any emergencies arose.

I would 100% encourage anyone who’s thinking about volunteering for Dentaid to get involved, it’s something I would really think about doing again. For a few hours of your time it’s a fantastic way to do some good and really support the people you’re seeing.
