The team leader is a dentist who has led several trips to Morocco and knows the country well.

The cost of the trip will be £1200 which includes your flight, accommodation, food, transport in-country and a contribution towards dental supplies as we will be providing free care for thousands of children. The only extras you will need to cover are your travel insurance, any vaccinations that are necessary and your sightseeing activities if you choose them. We encourage you to fundraise to pay for your trip. Terms and Conditions FAQ

The team will visit a different secondary school each day and also see children from local primary schools. Clinics are held in school halls and classrooms often using classroom furniture.  Sadly, some children will need painful teeth to be extracted.

For many families in Morocco toothbrushes and toothpaste are seen as luxury items and some of the children you see will never have owned them. Our volunteers distribute thousands of toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste while they are in Morocco and work with teachers and parents to promote oral health. In 2018 a team of 11 Dentaid volunteers screened more than 2000 children, carried out 579 fluoride varnish treatments, did 922 extractions and pain relieving treatments and gave oral health instruction to 719 patients – all in 5 days! On your days off you will be able to go sightseeing and visit Morocco’s famous markets. Read how other volunteers raised the money for their trip

Dentaid has been sending teams to Chefchaouen for the last 4 years and has built up a good network of projects in schools.  By working with local dentists and establishing oral health programmes, we hope to see an gradual yet long term improvement to dental health in the community.

“I feel so lucky to have been part of such a fantastic team.  They were compassionate and kind with a brilliant sense of humour which was needed during the long, emotional days. We met the most amazing kids too.  There were lots of extractions but also lots of fluoride treatment and oral health education with thousands of toothbrushes handed out to children who had never owned one before.” – Louise Saunders, dental nurse and Morocco team member April 2019
